Acrylic painting - Foundations and Techniques

Whether new or experienced in acrylic painting, this course has something for everyone. A step-by-step approach with the goal of completing an image of your choice. Included activities will be: Painting on a large canvas, basic colour theory and mixing, value study and an overview of acrylic mediums. 3 days full of practical information and creative fun to "loosen things up". The instructors goal is to work with each individual to bring out and move forward your own talents.

Acrylic Painting - Review and Advancement

A follow-up on foundations and techniques. Time to experiment! you will be lead through an exploratory exercise in 'styles' with an idea of expanding possibilities along the road to develop your own style. Included activities will be: working on an image of your choice chosen from your 'style' exercise, advanced colour, and mediums for texture. The instructor works with each individual to accomplish your artistic goals.

Acrylic Portraiture

This workshop includes basic facial proportions and bone structure, painting mouth and eyes, light and shadow to dramatize features, skin tones and painting a portrait of choice. Level One or equivalent knowledge/expertise is a prerequisite of this workshop.

Art is Life - Life is Art

For beginners and experienced alike, this 5 day acrylic workshop will take you on a journey from where you are... to where you want to go. Whether your artistic goal is to begin in acrylics, to refine your work or to go beyond current boundaries, Norma, works with each participant individually to take you to the next step in your creativity. While working on images of choice participants will be led through layers of different art elements and techniques to arrive at a completed pieces of art.

Included in this 5 day workshop is colour theory and mixing, elements of art such as value, form, space, basic composition rules and the use of acrylic mediums to add texture to your work .

This is a fun workshop, participants learn from each other's work, and it's full of practical information balanced with creativity.
